Kiełbasa is a dish which belongs to the old Polish tradition and is a popular choice and meal. There are many different ways of serving this delicacy, so that every carnivore will find something to his or her liking. So how do you make the best, delicious and homemade sausage?
How to make sausage?
Preparing the sausage means filling a special casing with the right stuffing, which is usually done using a sausage stuffing machine or, alternatively, a meat grinder fitted with special funnels. The sausage stuffing begins. In the first step, it is important to prepare the casing and the stuffing itself. The stuffing can be prepared in many different ways. One possibility is to use two types of meat - lean pork and fatty pork - to make it the perfect consistency. Season the minced meat with your favourite spices (for example large amounts of salt, pepper, garlic, etc.), add extras such as onions and pour hot water over the whole thing. The resulting filling should be stirred until smooth. When the stuffing and casing are ready, it is time to move on to the next step. Soak the funnel thoroughly and grease it with fat so that there are no problems when filling the casing with the stuffing. Slide the casing onto the funnel, tying a post at the end so that the stuffing doesn't spill out. Start the stuffing process, making sure that the casing does not slip out of the funnel even for a moment. Fill it all the way with the stuffing, carefully and slowly. The final step is to divide the finished sausage into individual pieces.
